The Prevalence of Hunger

Hunger has increasingly become the province of families in highly industrialized nations, including the United States and Israel.

Jews share a sacred duty to accept responsibility for the vulnerable people in our midst. MAZON seeks to uphold that obligation by embodying twin Jewish ideals: tzedakah (justice) and tikkun olam (repair the world). We employ three interrelated strategies as part of our holistic approach:

Working to ensure that hungry people have access to nutritious food today and that no one goes hungry tomorrow.

Awarding grants that empower anti-hunger organizations to work on behalf of hungry people in their communities.
Knowledge is power.
