The Context:

Chapter 13-15:41 God commands Moses to send 12 scouts on an expedition to Canaan to reconnoiter the land and its inhabitants. In these chapters, as well as in the book of Exodus, we learn that the Promised Land is a land flowing with milk and honey. While this image is descriptive of resources in the land, it is also a metaphor for plentiful bounty.

In America, most of us have access to the food we need, yet 1 in 8 Americans are hungry. Many people believe that the problems associated with hunger are confined to small pockets of society, certain areas of the country, or certain neighborhoods, but reality is much different.
